geek dad^* breakfasts

Are you a geek? And a dad?^*

Are you and your wife/partner/girlfriend:

tired
really tired
really terribly tired
tired with knobs on

Even though your kids are - obviously - the best thing in the world, they're also quite tiring, right?

Now think about how nice it'd be if you (geek dad^*) were to head out on a Saturday morning with your kids to meet up with some fellow geek dads^* in your area. Here's what I reckon might happen:

• Your wife/partner/girlfriend/boyfriend/whoever it is gets a lie in to help with the tiredness
• Your kids get a trip out
• You get to eat something fried
• Your kids get to hang out with other geek kids
• You get to talk geek. Not necessarily formal talks and stuff, just cud-chewing, Saturday morning stuff
• You get brownie points

Everyone ends up happy.

( ^*or mum. I know I'm making a (probably unfashionable) assumption here, but "geekparent" didn't work quite as well. If you're a geek mum, or a geek who likes hanging out with tired dads but doesn't have the kids to go with it, or a non-geek with kids, or a geek grandparent, or a wannabe geek....then hey, just turn up...)

ps. this is nothing to do with Wired.com's GeekDad (which I only just found), but that looks good too.. :-)
